Il Corso di preparazione all’esame 70-290 intende verificare le competenze di professionisti IT incaricati di gestire Account e Risorse in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (gestire utenti, computers, gruppi di Account; accessi alle Risorse di rete, stampanti; unità organizzative in una rete basata su Active Directory service; implementare Group Policy per gestire utenti e computers) manutenere le Risorse, monitorare le prestazioni dei server e proteggere dati in un ambiente Microsoft Windows Server 2003 É uno degli esami necessari per conseguire la certificazione MCSA. La certificazione Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) su Windows Server 2003 è indicata per professionisti IT che si occupano di gestire e manutenere ambienti di elaborazione complessi, tipici di aziende di medie e grandi dimensioni, e dispongono di 6–12 mesi di esperienza nell'amministrazione di sistemi operativi client e di rete, con le seguenti caratteristiche: da 250 a 5000 (e oltre) utenti tre o più sedi fisiche tre o più domain controllers servizi e risorse di rete come messagging, database, proxy server, firewall, Internet, intranet, accesso remoto e gestione dei client particolari esigenze di connessione: ad esempio necessità di connettere sedi distaccate e utenti in sedi remote alla rete dell’azienda, e/o connettere le reti dell’azienda a Internet.
Al superamento dell’esame 70-290, si ottiene la qualifica di Microsoft Certified Professional.
